Through its collaboration with Karma Metrix, the company has transformed its website into a model of energy efficiency, combining innovation and responsibility within a pioneering project in the fashion industry.

Today, the web represents one of the largest sources of global emissions, ranking as the fourth "country" in the world for CO2 emissions and the third for energy consumption. This awareness prompted Paul & Shark to embark on a virtuous path with the aim of reducing its environmental impact and adopting increasingly eco-friendly digital solutions.

 

 

 

Paul & Shark's commitment to digital sustainability has been achieved by overhauling the structure of the brand’s website. This process began with a detailed analysis of the platform's emissions, followed by the development of guidelines to optimize every technical and creative aspect.

One of the key innovations is the introduction of the Eco View feature, which allows users to view low-energy pages, contributing to a significant reduction in CO2 equivalent emissions. These improvements are complemented by advanced modifications to optimize videos and images, thereby reducing resource consumption without compromising the user experience.

 

 

*The Karma Metrix methodology involves selecting a sample of pages (composed of the "Top" desktop and smartphone pages based on page views) to analyze and determine the CO2e emitted by that sample¹; the total CO2e of the website was estimated based on the average energy efficiency of the pages in the sample.

 

Thanks to this strategic approach, from when the project was launched until October 2024, Paul & Shark has reduced the CO2 equivalent emissions generated by its site by 55%, despite an increase in traffic and page views. This remarkable result confirms the effectiveness of the solutions adopted and solidifies the company's role as a leader in sustainable innovation.

In 2025, the journey will continue with new goals: to further improve the energy efficiency of the website and continue to explore cutting-edge digital solutions for a more sustainable future.
