Tales of Water
A Film Series
Three different characters in an overseas tale, united by a common thread: water.
A lonely fisherman who lives on the Northern Canadian costs far from the bustle of the city. An Hawaiian photographer who has chosen to live and tell the tropical nature and the beauties of the islands. A young biologist who has made nature a life choice in an ecosystem just outside the city of San Francisco.
These realities, woven together by the love of water, are told through the eyes of Zak Powers, a Canadian filmmaker who has always been fascinated and inspired by all that is related with nature and humankind. A short docu-series outcome of a project born from Paul&Shark’s desire to tell the stories of young talents who have made their passions a life choice.

The Fisherman Tale
British Columbia
We travelled with lifelong fisherman Graham Obee to his home in the remote community of Tofino British Columbia Canada where the mountain rainforest meets the vast Pacific Ocean.
With Graham as our guide we fished the high, rolling seas and surfed the breaking waves along the rugged shore and at the end of the day we warmed ourselves by his driftwood fire, sitting in silence listening to the rain song of the wilderness.

Dylan Stompe is a Fisheries Biologist born and raised on the waters of the Northern California Coast. Dylan takes us on a tour of the nearness between the major seaport metropolis of San Francisco and the natural world of the rivers, sea, and redwoods forest.
“We can maintain the balance between living a normal human existence and preserving places like this by making little decisions that positively impact.”
We watch Dylan glide over the surface of the still morning waters in his boat admiring the bounty of life that the confluence of salt and fresh water provides.
