“For Paul&Shark, it is an honour to be a partner of the Dragon Regatta in Sanremo again this year. Our involvement was inaugurated by my father Paolo Dini, founder of the brand and bearing an affective connotation for me to continue and renew, especially for the 90th anniversary of the event,” declared Andrea Dini, CEO of Paul&Shark.
Scheduled from 6th to 11th October in Sanremo, the event is not a simple regatta but a true celebration, with revelry in honour of the Dragon. This boat has made Olympic history and more, attracting professional sailors and shipowners from all over the world for ninety years, demonstrating a unique longevity. The Dragon was designed by Norwegian architect Johan Anker in 1929 and is the most common keel monotype in the world, with some 6,500 models launched.
To date, there are over 160 crews hailing from 26 different nations, some from far away as Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, Canada and the USA, who have accepted the invitation and will be present at the Dragon 90th Anniversary Regatta with wooden boats that are historic yet perfectly restored or with modern and extremely taut fibreglass vessels. The most numerous fleet shall be that bearing the German flag, with 32 having signed up, followed by the United Kingdom with 21 and Russia with 16 boats, whilst there will be 14 Italian crews.
Paul&Shark has created a limited-edition capsule collection for the occasion, which includes polo shirt, sweatshirt and cap embroidered with the Dragon 90th Regatta logo.
