Integrated production from the very beginning

On 4 March 1957 the Maglificio Daco mill, founded in 1921, opened its doors once again under new owner Gian Ludovico Dini who, nine years later, changed its name to Dama S.p.A. Every aspect of production took place within the company, from producing yarns to making the boxes used to package the clothing. Items were even shipped throughout the world thanks to a prestigious partnership with Christian Dior and Balenciaga.

A journey and an inspiration

At the start of the 1970s Paolo Dini, the eldest son of Gian Ludovico, happened to find himself in a small sailmaker's workshop during a trip to Maine, where the sail from an old 18th-century clipper caught his eye. Its inscription read: Paul&Shark: It was fate.

An ambitious mission

The brand's aim has always been to seek excellence both in the quality of its products and the manufacture of its materials, guaranteeing a rigorous selection process based on exacting standards. Paul&Shark creates sportswear, smart casual and luxury lines, combining technical fabrics with elegant and stylish details.

A yachting collection

This collection dates back to the mid-1970s, when Paul&Shark launched in the sports fashion sector with a collection inspired by the world of sailing and based on its elegance, performance and spirit of adventure.

The birth of an icon

In 1978 its C0P918 pullover was born: a sailing sweater that would go onto become an icon of the Paul&Shark style. Instantly recognisable from its packaging, a metal can used on board ships as a multi-purpose container, this garment saw immediate success and signalled the start of a whole new water repellent knitwear collection.

Italian design from head to toe

Over the years the company has expanded greatly to become a comprehensive luxury sportswear range, appreciated by the fans of Italian fashion and high-performance technical materials, many of which have been patented by Paul&Shark.

An international brand

Today our collections (men's, women's, children's and accessories) are available throughout the world in 73 different countries, 458 cities and 474 points of sale, of which more than 280 are Paul&Shark monobrand boutiques located in the most exclusive shopping areas, from Milan - Via Montenapoleone, to Paris - Rue du Faubourg St. Honore', New York - Madison Avenue, Beverly Hills - Rodeo Drive , Hong Kong - Canton Road, Shanghai - Nanjing Road, Dubai and Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates, Moscow - Gum.

A family passion

The company is today run by CEO and President Andrea Dini, the third generation of the family. From start to finish, every aspect of each product is made in Italy.

A unique line for her, a comfortable collection for children

The womenswear collections offer a range of elegant, casual and technical garments for a feminine feel. The Cadet line, designed for children aged 4 to 14 years, offers some of the brand s most iconic garments, focusing on producing practical and comfortable items for even the youngest sailors.

The pillars of Paul&Shark's sustainability

Paul&Shark has set ambitious goals related to the sustainability and the environmental impact of its products, preparing a bold roadmap, in order to produce 50% of the collection out of recycled fabrics by 2020.

A pioneering logistics centre

The company's distribution centre covers a surface area of over 30.000 square metres and is the final stop before our goods are shipped to stores throughout the world.
